A lot of backyards have this problem - gravel or loose material sitting in a space that could actually be used. It looks rough, it's not functional, and it collects debris. That's exactly what we were working with here before we got started.
We came in, prepped the area properly, and laid out a rebar grid across the entire footprint before the pour. That steel reinforcement is what separates a slab that lasts decades from one that cracks and shifts within a few years. We don't skip steps like that.
The finished product is a smooth, clean concrete patio that connects seamlessly to the existing hardscape. It gives the homeowner a real surface to work with - whether that's outdoor furniture, entertaining, or just a clean transition from the house to the backyard. No more dealing with loose gravel shifting underfoot.
What we ended up with here is a great example of how concrete patio installation doesn't have to be complicated to make a big difference. A well-prepped base, proper reinforcement, and a clean pour - that's the formula. The space went from unusable to genuinely functional.
If you've got a backyard area that isn't pulling its weight, a concrete slab addition is one of the most practical upgrades you can make. Durable, low maintenance, and built to hold up through whatever the seasons throw at it.
